Lazy J is a 40 acre fenced in property. You can haul your horses in with assurance that an accidentally loose horse will not leave the property. On non-riding days, know that your horses are secure.

We have two large heavy pipe corrals and a similarly sturdy 50′ pipe round pen. We have had as many as twenty horses and mules in the two corrals. In addition, a long feeding trough allows tied horses to eat unbothered.

ROOM AND BOARD

“Room” charges are minimal with the expectation that you leave the property as mess free as you found it. We have forks, shovels, and a wheelbarrow for your use.

We do not do “Board”. However, we can put you in touch with Cody Feed @ http://www.sunlightrealestate.com/ . They can provide you with the hay necessary when you ride Wyoming as well as with the sweet feed if you do not bring your own.

TRAILHEADS

Between the Lazy J and the east gate of Yellowstone, a distance of about 35 miles, there are several trailheads. The scenery is great and the level of difficulty is not overly challenging. Elk Creek Trailhead, about 10 miles west of Lazy J, is a good place to start.

BEARS

We have never encountered any bears, but this is a possibility. Pepper spray should be on your belt on every ride. Two cans hang on the hooks at the cabin. Please return them if you take them and please read all literature that is available on the pepper spray.

COGGINS

We will ask that you fax or send papers prior to your visit (dated within 1 year).
